The new Occasions catalog has a stamp set that is near and dear to my heart. Horses! Yes, for most of my life I have owned and showed horses in just about every event.

Not so many years back, I sold my show horse, intending to look for another young show prospect, however less than a year after I sold him, I suffered a majore spine injury.

Three surgeries later I decided to sell all of my horse related stuff. I had intended to purchase another young show prospect, but given how tenuous my back was at the time I went a different direction. It was a bittersweet time, but I come from a horse family and still have horses within easy reach should I ever need them.

Horses were the biggest financial burden preventing my husband and I from retiring to travel so I did get to replace horses with another wonderful lifestyle, full time travel and I have no regrets. 

Ok, so enough about me. Lets talk about this sweet card. I used light Soft Suede to make a chestnut horse, and the paint horse is Bronze. The grass light Soft Sea Foam. The images are small enough that coloring them took no time at all.

The middle strip is layered as follows from bottom to top: 

• Soft Sea Foam dry embossed using the Corrugated DTIEF, note if you look close that the cardstock is cracked because I did not moisten it, and I liked that sort of rugged look.
• Wood Texture DSP die cut on both sides using the scalloped stitched edge die from the Be Mine Stitched Thinlits Die set.
• White Flax trim 

I used Whisper White to make the leaves, Happy and Birthday all from the Well Written Thinlits die set. I sure do like how well they go together, whoever designed this die set did a fabulous job!

The base is a darker Wood Texture DSP cut down to 4" x 5 1/4".

I stamped the envelope with the same grazing horses, offset and did not color them.
