3M ATG Tape 1/4" General Use
If you use alot of tape, there is a knock-off brand out there. I've used it and it is only ok....
This card was difficult for me in a couple of ways. I am NOT a one layer card maker so every element I wanted had to be integrated into the base. I also do not often participate in the Splitcoast Stampers (SCS) color challenges, but I had recently purchased an Authentique 6x6 pad that I had just received and looked through. It had a nice selection of patterned papers in the coral, teal and olive that comprised the SCS challenge colors. Hah, now I could try for two challenges I don't normally participate in.
I started by cutting out double stitched circles in the three different colors. I then decided that a white base would not work and pulled out a cream base. I laid out the circles and lightly drew pencil marks around where I wanted to embed them. I held my breath as I cut out each one... made it successfully past that step and then realized that if I wanted butterflies integrated that they too would need to be cut out as well. I just bought a new IO butterfly die set in which the butterflies are individual. I pulled out my wire snips and cut them apart. My other butterflie dies are on one solid sheet and that wasn't going to work for this. So I cut all three at once and when I dropped the circles into their slots, I liked the butterflies left open, showing the inside of the card.
For the sentiment, I pulled out the Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings set which was one of the first sets I bought long ago, and went with a simple hello. To bling the card up a little, I used matching sequins from Stampin' up and I used micro dots to place them face down. I've made this card for a variety of challenges as follows:
