June 2019 - Colour Combo Blog Hop

Thank you for joining me for the June Colour Combo blog hop! Every month the design team is challenged to make something awesome out of three seeminly unrelated Stampin' Up! colors. 

I have two projects to share with you. I hang out with my friend and team leader Libby at least once a month. Currently she is on the east coast and I am on the west coast, but we don't let this stop us! Using our cell phones and the internet, we spend hours crafting. I presented her with this month's colors and we chose a stamp set, Tropical Chic. 

I started with the large square leaves die, the subtle embossing folder and Poppy Parade cardstock. A full red card front is not the norm for me, it would have been more likely for me to choose the Gray Granite cardstock. I decided I wanted to go bright! 

The flowers started as Daffodil Delight, and because I was using my Stamparatus, I was able to followup with some Poppy Parade sponging around the petal edges. I already had the Grey Granite peeking through the leaves, but wanted more depth and the Corrogated embossing folder did the trick. I went vertical but think that horizontal would have been a fun alternative. 

The polka dot ribbon and sentiment came next and then I added the vertical stripes under the sentiment to give that area more pop. Epoxy droplets finished it off. 

Libby and I are always amazed at the difference in our projects. One day I suppose we may get close but not this day! I love her clean design. She colored the white twine and clear rhinestones with Daffodil Delight.
