August 2019 - Kre8tors Blog Hop - Color Challenge

It is time for the August Kre8tors blog hop. I am excited to be a part of this great group of global Stampin' Up! independent demonstrators. I took a break in July to heal up from hand surgery, and now I am back to crafting with a happy hand!

This month's theme is a color challenge using the below image for inspiration. Though we are only required to choose three colors, I ended up using four: Early Espresso, Highland Heather, Granite Gray and Petal Pink.

I wanted to replicate the sparkly magic of underwater using the new Seaside Notions stamp set. The 2019 Holiday catalog will have some fun 3d snow effects, which I used on the sand and the seahorse. The products will be available for purchase when the catalog goes live in September.

The shells and seahorse were electronically fussy cut and I used an Early Espresso brush end of a Many Marvelous marker around the edges which you can see in the close up picture below. I find eliminating the white edges results in a very crisp look that I prefer.

I dry embossed the Highland Heather background layer using the High Seas embossing folder. Embellishments include various sequins and linen thread.

Blends used:

Seahorse: Highland Heather light and dark
Shells: Petal Pink Light and Dark, Gray Granite light and dark
