I just completed a major trip planning session today. When it comes to creating our plan, we both work on various parts in stages. It always starts out rough and we fine tune it. This time Hub performed what I will call phase one. To me it is the hardest part because there's nothing to work from, you start with a blank piece of paper. I am not sure how other travelers work their planning magic...

I created a new presentation documenting our experience with full time RV living. We had an interruption in our travels that delayed this update. We are now finishing up 13 months on the road so I packed this with everything I thought would be of interest for those planning on RVing part time or full time.

The video ended up being a bit longer than I like but I had alot of details to...

We finished all of our medical exams, procedures and tests. I wouldn't say we aced everything, but we did well enough to not have to stress about anything medical during our winter travels. When you get older and have certain medical conditions, I suggest timing your annual wellness exam and labs to be complete before you leave, don't leave anything to chance! My theory is that positive...

Let's see, so much has happened that everything is a blur. My last post summarized our Sunday and Monday mid-day when I filled the propane tanks and BBQed us some lunch. Fast forward to 6pm. I was chilling, watching a show on my 10" tablet (which is silly because I can just as easily put it on our 40" TV, but then Hub can hear it while he is napping, so the tablet works just fine) and there...

Fires Might Make Us Change Our Plans Yet Again!

Publish Date:

Yesterday the air quality was great in the am. It was 67, almost in the "good" zone which is 50 and lower. We decided to make a grocery run and on the way we noted at least six different fire and police cars heading north. Just north of where we are staying is a temporary Fire Relief camp. It has emergency vehicles, helicopters and tents set up all around it. They've been there since the...

Fires In Eastern Washington Changed Our Plans

Fires In Eastern Washington Changed Our Plans | Tracy Marie Lewis | www.stuffnthingz.com

We enjoyed staying at Little Diamond Thousand Trails. Amazingly there were NO mosquitos. We just had to tread carefully to not step on a yellow jacket ground nests and we did have to deal with gnats and grasshoppers. Hub did not get stung so his reputation with the yellow jackets was good. The day we left it wasn't very smoky at the campground, but by the time we hit I-90, the haze was very...

We Are Finally Somewhere NEW!

First I need to summarize our stay in Leavenworth. I finally got to check off an item from my bucket list. I wanted to stay a full three weeks in Leavenworth. It was lovely. It was also a great workout because we played disc golf twice a day almost every day. Even the first week, when I still had stitches from Carpal Tunnel surgery, I played right handed, or I would come along and look for Hub...

Hub had two changes to make in our Bathoom. First, he disliked the toilet roll holder that came with the RV, thank goodness they did not install it. I think they knew how lame it was. Once he cut the hole in the side of the cabinetry, he could more easily fix the pluming leak.

Now granted he could have just turned the black knob on the pex and called it done, but he wanted to have...

It Feels Good To Be Back In The Saddle

Publish Date:

We are on our summer vacation. So much has happened in the last six months that it is nice to finally slow down. We are staying in Leavenworth twice on this trip. We start and end here. It's been a week and a half of lovely warm weather and an onsite disc golf course. Needless to say we have enjoyed every minute of it.

I did slip in a minor surgery four days prior to us leaving and that...

DIY - Fix To Our Fan Blower Motor In The Truck $19.99

Publish Date:

Our initial fix to the intermittent fan blower problem in the truck stopped working in March. The blower would work most of the time, then some of the time, then not at all. I made a quick video showing the parts and where they live in the truck. Hub installed a new fan blower motor just because. He also has a backup Ignition switch and Ignition switch connector. Video length 3 min 2 sec.
