September 2018 - Kre8tors blog hop - Sympathy
Welcome to the September Kre8tors blog hop! I am hopping with a global crew of incredibly talented Stampin' Up! independent demonstrators. My name is Tracy Marie and I am excited to share my projects with you today. This month's focus is on sympathy.
Our hop leader gives us lots of advance notice for the monthly theme and since I am rebuilding my stamp collection from nothing (long story) I was shocked to find that I had NO sympathy stamps. So... I was able to do some shopping and bought two stamp sets, one from the annual catalog and the other from the newly launched holiday catalog.
Both sets are very easy to use and create a polished and creative card without alot of effort.
For the first project, I stamped the main sentiment on a light blue shet of Tranquil Textures dsp to indicate sky. The two smaller sentiments were stamped on Whisper White and trimmed down. I matted that layer with the oval laser cut from SU's specialty laser cut designer paper, I used the blue dsp as a second mat trimming it down. I then cut some flowers from the Flourish Filigree Thinlits Die set to add more detail. I applied the focal to an A2 card base, and then trimmed it down since the laser cut dsp is not A2 sized. For embellishments, I added glitter gems to the flower centers and then doodled on the "sorry" sentiment with a white gel pen.
Layers:
Focal: 3 1/2 x 4 3/4
Mat: 3 3/4 x 5
Base: 4 x 11 (scored and folded in the middle)
The second project I kept nice and simple. I stamped the flowers using Sahara Sand, the flowers and sentiment are Blackberry Bliss, and the bow is stamped in Berry Burst.
Layers:
Focal: 3 3/4 x 4 3/4
Foil: 4 x 5
Base: 4 1/4 x 11 (scored and folded in the middle)
I think it came out lovely.
I hope you like my projects. Don’t forget to leave a comment before you hop to Laura and see her lovely project. Just click on the Next arrow below. If you get lost along the hop, you can use the blog hop list below to help guide you along.
