November 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop - Birthday

This month's Kre8tors blog hop is all about birthdays. In Fact, Melissa who runs this hop's birthday IS today, so I want to wish her a good one!
I had to get my project finished early due to OnStage, which is the fall Stampin' Up! conference. Since the location is Orlando, Florida, we decided to make a journey of it. We are now camping in Florida all the way from Washington state! This is our first time ever driving across the US. It was over 4,000 miles!
My Mom's birthday is early in November so it was a good reason to make her something for the hop. I chose a stamp set that totally reminds me of her. She likes earthy things and always had the type of flower arrangements depicted in this set. I chose the cat tail arrangement and the pitcher for the base.
This scene felt like it would be lovely on Very Vanilla cardstock which I rarely use. I have given my mom so many cards now that I have to think of changing things up for her and I don't believe I've ever given her a card made with Very Vanilla. That settled, I colored the image with the following blends:
Crumb Cake (light and dark)
Pumpkin Pie (dark)
Cherry Cobbler (dark)
Soft Sea Foam (dark)
Color Lifter
I finished it off with white gel pen highlights. I distressed the Early Espresso mat and then applied copper shimmer to the tin tile and the Very Vanilla mat.
Dimensions:
Focal: 2 3/4" x 4"
Early Espresso Mat: 3" x 4 1/4"
Tin Tile Mat: 4" x 5 1/4"
Here is a close up of the coloring:
