Sunflower Mother's Day Card | Tracy Marie Lewis | www.stuffnthingz.com

I Copic colored many small images over the winter. As a result I have amassed a fine selection for use on cards. I had this colored sunflower and thought it would be perfect for my mother in law. I fussy cut it out which is something I avoid if at all possible, but I liked the patterned DSP I picked out and wanted to show as much of the paper as possible. I chose to cut out ovals using Gina Marie X Stitched dies and cut a slightly larger turquoise blue to be the frame around the flower. I used a soft pearly cream cardstock for the base. I colored the ribbon with GY61. I'd wanted GY63 but discovered that the wedge nib was all dried out. I did purchase quite a few used copics and bet this is one of them. Oddly the brush nib is fine but it was too much work to get enough color to apply. So I went with the lighter color. I've added blank wedge nibs to my "need" list - which is very short compared to my "want" list.

I used a very small Mother's Day sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes which is a Stampin' Up sentiment set. I then applied numerous DIY enamel dots.

I then could not fit the card through my USPS mail jig and hand to re-do the ribbon in a flatter style which I then did not take a picture of before I mailed it.
