Dream Sleeping Kitten Card

This card came out of nowhere. I colored the kitten before the fishes from my previous post. I'd spent a little time matching papers but became frustrated because nothing was working for me. After the fish card was finished I went back to the the kitten. I pulled out a thick stack of 6 x 6 cardstock that I'd received from a Splitcoast Stamper member who was purging her old paper, I just had to pay shipping. I found this lovely collage paper in cream. It had a sewing machine as the focal. I thought hmm, if I just place this kitten right over the sewing machine and add the sentiment up top, this could work. Next I had to cut a mat. I "had" a scalloped teal mat I'd cut earlier but I'll be darned if I could find it. I'm sure it is hiding with my seabirds stamp I cannot find.

Anyhow I found a softer teal that matched the stamp ink. I used Gina Marie's X stitched circle and rectangle dies. Next I needed a sentiment. I thought my Penny Black "Dream" die would be PERFECT, and I was right. I cut two of them, one on 110lb card base stock and then the top in 80lb charcoal recollections cardstock. After I glued them together I applied it right through the postage mark. I then added a ribbon bow and some gold lace for a challenge. I glued a decorative brad onto the bow. That scallop or orange in the upper right goes perfect with the kitten's coloring. It was even better before I cut off the rest of the scallop:)

I like it!

Yay!  I love beautiful cards and triumphant crafing stories and this post has both!  I was glad that you hung in there and found a way to incorporate your adorable kitty.  It all came together perfectly and I especially love the vertical bow and how you've anchored it with a brad.  Thank you so much for sharing such a charming card with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

Such a lovely card and what a sweet little kitty image. Beautiful :-)

Thank you for purring along to play at SUYP Cats Challenges.
