Flowers and Sunshine Card

Flowers and Sunshine Card | Tracy Marie Lewis |

Day twenty eight of the 30 day coloring challenge and I completely changed gears. I just got some new stamps and I had to use them, right. now. today. This card ended up alot of work. It has so many errors. Where to start. First off being a horse person I have spent countless hours whacking down thistles in the pasture to save me spending hours getting burrs out of manes and tails. I did not realize what flower it was until I started sponging on the Distress Inks. As it started to pop out at me I went great, I picked a horrid weed for my Flower sentiment. Big mistake number two is that I wasn't looking at the shadows on the water droplets. Bleh, the shadows FACE the sunny side.

I thought, ok I will keep at this for "practice". I added some new stencils for all three sections. I then added real water droplets and spray to add more texture to the background. I added two metallic marks, the swirly one on the left shows up in the image. Finally I spent forever and a day doodling the water droplets to make them have the shadow on the shady side. I added shadows for the lettering in a color matching its background. Finally I broke out the white gel pen. I know this has lots of subject matter mistakes but I know it will still be appreciated by the lucky recipient.

Distress Ink colors used top right to bottome left:

Fossilized Amber, Mustart Seed, Squeezed Lemonade, (sun) Dried Marigold, Wild Honey Marker for lettering shadows

Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky, Bundled Sage, Faded Jeans Marker for shadows and lettering

Bundled Sage, Forest Moss, Forest Moss Marker for shadows
