I moved right along to the next card. I already had a Memento Tuxedo Black stamped dragonfly waiting to be colored. I find I don't like the two step color approach and opted to watercolor the wings. I used blueprint sketch and twisted citron. After painting the wings I die cut then fussy cut off the white like I did with the first card. I used the dots stamp included with the stamp set, mixing the blue and green as well as stamping off here and there.

I cut out a white window. Made a very thin blue mat and then made the base. Somehow while adhering the background I got a tiny smudge of blue in the white box background and that was how the angle of the dragonfly was determined. To offset that angle I made the happy birthday banner flush right with the banner edges cut to the left.I popped up both the dotted/matted layer and the sentiment layer making it two layers tall, but still thin enough to send via USPS with a forever stamp.

I had the square cutouts leftover and used them for the inside sentiment. I don't often stamp inner sentiments as I like to write a personal message and my handwriting is quite large. But I liked the leftover pieces and the message is a good one for my father in law.
