CASE Valentine Card - Lovely Wood | Tracy Marie Lewis | www.stuffnthingz.com

When I made up my full Valentine list I included my mom's husband. He is into woodworking and is a clean and simple sort of guy. Very artistic and good at everything he does. I saw this card on pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/189432728058204492/ and thought something along those lines would be perfect.

I dug through my 6x6 paper pads and found a nice wood paper with a rose in the bottom corner of it. I thought, he will be ok with the rose, after all it IS Valentine's Day. I did not have the right sizes of hearts to use so I did the best I could. Actually, I learned something at this point. I DO have the right size heart, but alas it is on a solid metal backing with 3 hearts and an arrow. So when die shopping, think about all possible applications, don't just buy a solid set of dies on one piece if you need to cut out a shape separate from the rest. Lesson learned.

I did not want to go with white lettering so I used a scrap of cream linen with a slight shimmer to it and used brown StazOn. I mounted this on a cream base and used a cream envelope (I point this out because it is so rare that I use cream over white.)

I had some leftover Christmas enamel dots that finished it off perfectly.

The brown silhouette heart was done with Ground Espresso Distress Ink.
