Senile Friends Card

I put this card together to satisfy two Splitcoast Stampers challenges. Use humor and use something related to the postal system. I started with a Holtz embossing folder with Air Mail stamps. I decided to color the folder with Memento Paris Dusk on a cream base. I then sponged the edges using two distress inks colors: Antique Linen all around and Walnut Stain on the four corners. Then on the same cream I stamped script lettering and postage using Antique Linen to make it look like a patterned paper.

I cut the sentiment out with a Spellbinders deckled edge die and then sponged both the light and dark distress inks again in the same order. I cut out some linen ribbon, darkened the edges with Walnut Stain and then applied a brushed bronze brad on each side of the sentiment. I popped the sentiment up with dimensionals. I used a cream base and darkened it a bit with just the Antique Linen distress ink. I wanted an aged look to the entire card (no pun intended). I popped up the embossed background also for more depth. I love this sentiment, it is just so funny to me for some reason. I have entered this card in the following challenges:
