May 2019 - Kre8tors Blog Hop - Avid Crafter Techniques

Today is the Kre8tors blog hop. If you hopped from Pia's blog, I hope you enjoyed her creation. Currently my husband and I are in Palm Springs California. We are heading to our home base in the Pacific Northwest, so we will be moving eight times this month!
Today's hop theme is technique. My project is a mix of favorite techniques for the avid crafter. Inks were used create the focal and then age and distress it. The clouds are texture paste which has been shaped by using Stampin' Up!'s masks. These masks are often referred to as stencils and I love the 3d effect.
I spritzed using a copper metallic water and then applied metal copper netted trim. The edges have been distressed using snips and were then sponged with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso ink. I also distressed and colored the Balmy Blue mat edges as well. The focal layer has been popped up using dimensionals.
Measurements:
Focal: 3 1/2: x 4 3/4"
Balmy Blue Mat: Very thin, just under 3 3/4" x 5"
Wood Texture Mat: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Here is a closeup of the cloud and ink detail.
I hope you are inspired to play with these techniques. Please leave me a comment before you hop to Rebecca. Below is the full hop list to help guide you.

Each June Stampin' Up! releases a new annual catalog. Alas that means some products will be retiring and will no longer be available. Today's stamp sets as well as the wood texture background dsp are retiring on June 4th. They are only available while supplies last. Click on the image below to see all of the retiring products from both the annual and occasions catalogs. Please feel free to reach out to me for assistance in placing your order. I do send free gifts when you order using my promo code which is also provided below.
