July 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop - Sketch - Rooted In Nature Card
Today I am hopping along with the 2018 Kre8tors group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators. This month I have moved up north in Washington state for a few weeks after which we will head to Eastern Washington for the rest of the summer. It is so lush and green where we are that I chose to make a nature card in honor of the local greenery. This month's projects are based on the provided sketch:
Here are some dimensions we were also provided to use as needed.
I used the first three measurements, and from there my layers became more organic based on the focal piece E that I chose which is a leaf.
The embossed mat is Garden Green cardstock. Garden Green and Crumb Cake Many Marvelous Markers were used to color the focal leaf. All of the stamped images are from the Rooted In Nature bundle which includes matching dies for most of the stamps. The log round was fussy cut electronically and the stitching around the square was also done electronically.
The stitched white square is framed with a thin Crumb Cake mat. The log round is Crumb Cake ink with sponged Soft Suede ink edges. I added two vellum elements, a sprig and three leaves. I heat embossed them in silver and gold and tacked them under the Soft Suede strip with mini dots.
The finishing touches include linen thread wrapped and tied in a bow as well as some tiny pebbles that I carefully selected from the Tranquil Textures Sprinkles embellishments. Included is a video showing these sprinkles up close so you can see the variety of items come in the package of sprinkles I also demonstrate how I add the sprinkles to projects.
I hope you like my project. Don’t forget to leave a comment before you hop to Rebecca and see her lovely project. If you get lost along the hop, you can use the Roll Call List below to help guide you along.
