Kre8tors February 2019 Blog Hop - Valentine | Tracy Marie Lewis | www.stuffnthingz.com

Today is the Kre8tors blog hop. Our theme is Valentine and I am so excited to share my creation because I created a 3D project which is a rare thing. This group is so creative that they really stretch my imagination each month. I hope when you hop around you will be inspired too!

Given the very small space I live in I am restricted on what I can make and how large it can be. This particular creation is slightly taller than an A2 card so it wasn't such a stretch size-wise. 3D Bricks Love Wall Art | Tracy Marie Lewis | www.stuffnthingz.com

It all started with some leftover shimmery texture paste that I'd colored with three drops of Melon Mambo to coordinate with January's Paper Pumpkin kit. I'd finished all of my Valentine's to send to my friends and family and I had enough to make a brick element for a Valentine wall art project. I added one drop of Lovely Lipstick to darken it up and it came out perfect. I had just enough left to make my wall. I applied the texture paste using the brick mask (stencil) to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I then tore it into a long narrow strip roughly 2 1/2" wide.

Two Sparkle glimmer hearts were cut from the Be Mine Stitched hearts dies. When you use the scalloped stitched heart, you end up with two pieces, the two insides I had already used on my Valentine's Day cards, leaving the two stitched and scalloped outsides to put over my bricks. I then made a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" corrugated Soft Suede background. Before I embossed it I sprayed it with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint water. I needed to make the cardstock moist to prevent the corrugated from tearing the paper into pieces, and I liked the metallic effect that the shimmer added, it was a win-win.

Tip: Once corrugated, your cardstock will "shrink" due to the 3D nature of the corrugation. I calculate that on a 4 1/4" wide piece of cardstock that has been corrugated vertically, you will end up with about a 3 7/8" wide piece (I measured my piece used in this project). Ideally you would cut a slightly wider piece if you want a finished 4 1/4". I hope this makes sense. It is the only current embossing folder with such an extreme effect on the finished size so just be aware of it. Bricks Love Wall Art Close Up \ Tracy Mrie Lewis | www.stuffnthingz.com

I cut an oversized black base for the background. I cut it to fit into our wood slide decorative rectangles and with the leftover black cardstock I cut out two "love" and "you"s and glued them together to make very thick words. I have it hanging up now opposite a different piece of Love art I'd already made and now we are ready for the magic of Valentine's Day!Bricks Love Wall Art - Hanging | Tracy Marie Lewis | www.stuffnthingz.com
