After Libby and I struggled to get through our first one sheet wonder cards at a previous crafting day, Libby tossed out a second cut sheet and DSP/Stamp set for us to work on. This time we could work on it as our time allowed. Boy oh boy did I struggle. I guess for me, I work from the focal down, not from the background up. To help me overcome this challenge, I cut some Whisper White stitched shapes to work with. The critter images were already fussy cut so I mixed and matched them on these backgrounds, adding stamped grass and trees here and there on the focal background shapes.

From there I was able to more easily visualize how the background layouts would look. I decided to play with various green cardstock card fronts to make fall and Christmas cards.

Here is the one I colored first. I've never seen a fox in real life, so I had to do some research on how best to color a fox using the Blends markers.

Blends colors used:

fox

  • light and dark Pumpkin Pie
  • light Cajun Craze
  • light Smokey Slate

leaves

  • light and dark Old Olive
  • light and dark Pumpkin Pie
  • color lifter

After finishing the fox of with some white gel pen highlights I visualized coloring a couple of green/orange fall maple leaves to match with the fox coloring. I die cut out using the small maple leaf from Seasonal Layers dies cuts.

The branch is also from Seasona Layers.

A double layer baker's twine bow and adhesive sequins finished the project.
