Let It Snow - Holtz Snowflake Blueprints
UPDATE: I was behind on mapping my blogged cards to my gallery at Split Coast Stampers, so I finally spent the time to get my gallery there updated with my projects. As a result, on January 24th, this card was picked as one of the Weekly Favorites! Woohoo!
I just read up on this weeks Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge and wanted to contribute some of my winter themed Holtz art. I have only entered my Lawn Fawn work on the Wednesday challenge one time, and my goal is to participate in challenges more often this year (one of my 2016 resolutions). I make these to give as cards, but recipients have reported that they look very nice framed. I don't actually own this stamp, I went to a crafter friend's home one day in August, she has this amazing stamp collection. I came prepared with a thick stack of Neenah Solar White. I stamped every. single. holtz blueprints stamp she had, over and over, both the full size and minis. This means I can Copic color them at will and make these awesome creations! I plan to do a couple more for this challenge because it hits so close to home and I love Tim Holtz products! Let's see now, for the details on this project, first on the base paper, I started with DCWV - Christmas & Winter cardstock stack 4 x 6.5 and I distressed the edges using the Tim Holtz paper distresser tool. Then I misted the page with shimmery silver mist I made with some Silver Perfect Pearls and water that I now have in a Mini Mister (I had to work hard to get the shimmer to show). The ribbon is white seam tape, with a tinsely silver ribbon that I used to attach the "let it snow" tag centered on top. I used a corsage pin, copic'ed the pearl a mint green and added the heart beads with Glossy accents - then I cut it off short and adhered it with glossy accents to the card. The rhinestones came from Michael's, I glossy accented the entire snowflake. Used a variety of epoxy clear water droplet beads and more glossy accents to solidify the wet appearance. The sentiment came on a full sheet of red rubber Christmas theme sentiments. Updated: Found the "Let it Snow" sentiment and added it to the supplies list.
Thanks for stopping by!
Interesting, Purple Onion does not allow copying their product images, so I cannot show you what...
