Dragonfly And Flowers Birthday Card
I enjoyed two days of crafting at my mom's. This is one of my later projects, I had this in mind as a #simplestamping project. Each month Stampin' Up! publishes a simple stamping card style for demonstrators to make. I like to stretch myself to make a few of them. For me, the more elaborate cards are easier. They tend to be busy with many layers of ink and cardstock so many mistakes can be hidden. I find simple cards to be more challenging as there is no room for error and I have to keep my hands really clean. I tend to have inky hands when I craft, I guess I am a messy crafter.
The assignment for July is to use cardstock, inks and dsp. I started with the new host stamp set soft spring stamping the tall flowers in black and Bermuda Bay finishing the stamping with a black dragonfly. The sentiment uses two stamps from the A Wish For Everything stamp set. The DSP is the 2019 Brights pattern DSP.
This card took minutes to stamp and a few more minutes to cut and adhere the dsp. The inside and envelope were also stamped with the tops of the flowers and dragonfly.
My style of simple stamping is to use a 4 x 5 1/4" card front that can be popped up with dimensionals on an A2 size card base.
