Birthday Balloon Floating Cat Card

Birthday Balloon Floating Cat Card | Tracy Marie Lewis | www.stuffnthingz.com

I made this for Newton's Nook Color Challenge #29. I used a Darice embossing folder and inked it up with two colors, then spritzed with water. For the first attemp I did not spritz and the ink was too streaky and unnatural looking. I like how the spritz version turned out much better.

I colored Newton a grey tabby color with a little white. I gave him a bit of mottled soft coloring around his face because that is how my cat's coloring is. I have a Main Coone and his hair is medium length and downy soft so his coloring around his face is softer looking than a short haired cat. I popped up the cat in the blue sky center and then got out all of my star embellishments. I mixed rhinestone and sequin stars in 3 different sizes. I decided the card still needed more and I brought out my trusty 3d Fabric Paint. I coverd the raised sky border and the swirls.

I trimmed the edges just a little and applied it to a base with dimensionals. When I give this to someone they are going to know immediately that the floating cat is my cat, however, he is a Maine Coon and as much as we might think he can float on a balloon, I think he would be more of an anchor! Here are the challenges I am entering this card in:

Such a fun and cute card! Your newton's colored so beautifully! I have not tried coloring my Newton stripes yet because it just looks so difficult! So great job! Thank you for joining us over at Cupcake Inspirations!

Cute Card! I like the idea of inking and spritzing the embossing folder! I also love that you colored the kitty to look like your main coon! I'm laughing at the thought of him weighing down the balloon!

Thanks for playing along with our Inky Paws Challenge at Newton's Nook Designs.
