Something New - Something Old ODBD | Tracy Marie Lewis - www.stuffnthingz.com

I made a similar card one ODBD challenge ago. It was a thank you design and I really liked it and wanted to make it as a Sympathy card for myself. For this challenge of using something old and something new, I used some fun papers that are a handmade pulpy paper in bright colors that I just got from my mom, we swap paper all the time. I also have a new paper pad with coordinating little glossy dots. The rest of the materials are old. I have been so very sad at the sudden loss of one of my horse friends (a human friend, who worked with horses). He was killed in a car accident only one house away from the horse facility where he lived. I have had a rough time with this as he was only 37 and newly married. So, I have made myself, yes for me... sympathy cards. The most bright and beautiful cards I can come up with. He was such a happy talented young man and I hope making these cheerful cards will lift my spirits! I used some old familiar materials of course: my Copic Sketch markers, stickles in lots of bright colors on the hummingbird, DIY enamel dots, Lil' Inkers dual stitched ovals and rectangles, Neenah Solar White to color on, and Recollections 110# for the card base. I used a matching purple dew drop ink for the sentiment and also sponged it around the two rectangle layers. I enjoyed making this card and for now it sits at my computer to cheer me up!
