Sea Of Textures Tunnel Card For The Creative Cat Crew Color Challenge #63
This week's color challenge colors are: peaches, grays, gold and white and here is the inspiration image:
I've been suffering from what I call "sunday night syndrome" where I wait until the very last minute to finish this challenge each week. Finally it bit me! I had a late afternoon wedding on Saturday for challenge #62 so I missed it. This is only the second or third challenge I've missed in a very long time. So, of course I was all motivated to get #63 done EARLY. And on Sunday I got to go craft at Libby's house! Of course THE first project I did was this week's challenge.
I'd seen a pseudo tunnel card using Sea of Textures, but I did not have the link so I replicated it from what I remember.
I used two different sizes of ovals from the layering ovals die set, the largest on the top, and the second largest oval behind. To give a tunnel like appearance, I chose a dark grey base and die cut the school of fish in it which I then backed by gold foil. I used dimensionals under both ovals to further enhance the tunnel effect. I cut a variety of sea life bits in Grays and peaches as well as gold and layered them between both ovals, with the main collection on top of the front oval.
The Octopus was inked with two colors using a repeat sponge technique and the Stamparatus. I made a few, experimenting with light to dark coloring, I chose a middle colored octopus.
The final touch was adding the curved netting. I really like how this came out!
