Libby and I crafted twice in August. Our style of crafting is collaborative. Since we craft remotely we use a Pinterest board where we load up various pins such as color challenges and projects we like. Once together we will decide on something to make together. While creating we chat about what we are creating, what is going on etc. Once finished, we load the finished projest so we can see what the other person has made. We will even load up "failed" attempts along the way to discuss. It is always fun to see how alike or different our projects come out.

So, during our first August get together, we discussed this particular pin of four cards, both of us liked them, but we didn't get to playing with them. When we met again, Libby suggested we make them starting with this one ->Inspiration Pin

My first failed attempt came out very, very dark so I flipped over my cardstock and made sure I stamped off once before stamping and it came out much better. The Basic Black matting came out wider on the sides because when I cut the stamped background down I guesstimated and worked with what I'd cut. I used a different sentiment, sponged and matted it then placed it offset to the right. Finally I added two punched out butterflies and embellished them with rhinestones.

Dimensions:

  • pattern background - 2 1/8 x 5 1/8"
  • Basic Black mat - 2 1/2" x 5 3/16"
  • full Basic Black mat- 4" x 5 1/4"
  • full Very Vanilla mat - 4 1/8" x 5 5/16"

Note: I wanted very, very thin edges on the two large mats, I measured them by eye, trimming very fine strips until it was the size I wanted.

I think this came out awesome! I will link to Libby's project after she finishes it.
