Cat In The Bag Birthday Card
I am going to attempt to participate in the 30 days of coloring challenge at The Daily Marker. Specifically my goal is to color and post my coloring every.single.day (even if it isn't a completed project) in March. I am retired right? And of course, we are having internet service issues where we are staying so I can tell that internet access could pose a problem. I might have to post more than one color project on a given day if I do lose the internet.
It will be fun to stay focused for a full 30 days. I do have watercolor pens, cake watercolors in a case, colored pencils (2 brands), Sharpie Markers and a complete set (yes all 358 colors) of Copic Sketch Markers. I even have a small sub-set of Copic Original Markers with the superfine nib in 24 dark colors for adding delicate details.
That's enough intro, now on to this specific project. Today I used more direction than I normally do, I picked a color challenge, a sketch challenge and subject matter challenge to create this cute Newton's Nook cat theme birthday card.
Challenges I combined to make this project:
- Coloring Challenge: The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge
- Color Challenge: Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge - CC624
- Sketch Challenge: CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #212 Sketch
- Subject Matter Challenge: Cupcake Inspirations Challenge CIC396 - Cat
I used two different Newton's Nook Designs stamp sets: "Newton's Birthday Bash" and the cupcake is from their "Love a La Carte" stamp set. The cupcake set does not have matching dies - yet, so I had to fussy cut, and I hate to fussy cut, but I did it:) I cut the top layer using Gina Marie's Wonky Stitched Rectangles dies. I cut a very thin mat of the berry color. I added white gel pen after the fact.
